Tassels come in various colors
As you may well be aware, citation ceremonies are
held by universities as a mark of recognition to the scholars who
do exceedingly well during their academic career. There are certain
guidelines for citation ceremonies.
Students wear graduation cap and gowns and tassels
as a matter of pride. Various norms have been set and changed by
a representative’s body of academic institutions in respective
countries over a period of time.
The aim always has been to codify and to standardize
the academic dress code during citation ceremonies. These guidelines
define as how a graduation cap and gowns and tassel should resemble.
Certain norms exist for graduation apparel. There are fixed patterns
for tassels, hoods and gowns.
These are sent in accordance with the academic traditions. Students
are encouraged to appear in specified academic apparel. It normally
comprises a gown and a cap, which has a graceful tassel.
As it is often specified, the candidates holding
a master's degree may have gold tassels on their mortarboards. In
other words, there are different color codes for tassels of different
dress codes. Bachelor's tassels as a rule denotes or signifies the
institution that has granted the degree.
Tassels have different colors. For example, according
to course and the level of degree / diploma, a student will wear
different tassels. For citation ceremony some students instead of
buying the graduation apparel prefer to rent it. They can retain
the cap and even tassel from this apparel as a souvenir.
Of course, color codes do not exist only for tassels.
Master's hoods are often lined with the University colors. On other
hand, velvet panels display the color of the discipline in which
the degree is being granted.
Graduation Tassels come in various colors, and a
student can select from them based on the citation ceremony code.
There are tassel colors that range from Pink, Red, Black, Gold,
White, Navy-Blue, Light-Blue, Royal-Blue, Purple, Dark-Green, Orange,
and Turquoise.
